About Me
I am privileged to live in beautiful North Wales with its wonderful coast lines and glorious mountains. I have a sewing room, converted from a farm building, that provides space for up to 8 people to attend classes and I have a pop-up shop for kits and fabric supplies.
I have always loved working with textiles and enjoy the creativity of patchwork and quilting. I learned to sew and knit with my mother and grandmother, and I made most of my own clothes during my teens and twenties. With a career in textile teaching and a young family, the time to pursue my own love of patchwork was limited but I often gave handmade textile items as gifts. These are lasting reminders, evoking wonderful memories of a time in life’s journey.

I started Made by Merrill when I retired, and this gave me the opportunity to develop classes and talks in patchwork and quilting and share my love of the craft.

I create original designs and have exhibited my work in national events and shows. I am an accredited Quilters’ Guild judge and have judged at the Festival of Quilts and other shows.
